Indonesia will send spa therapists to work in Italy's tourist industry, with Arbatax Park Resort, an Italian business, agreeing to pay 1,000 euros per month (US$1272) to each Indonesian spa worker it employs.

Arbatax also said that it would provide facilities such as food, insurance, lodging and round-trip tickets for their Indonesian employees.

"This is the perfect opportunity to increase Indonesian exports. If Arbatax Resort likes the performance of our spa therapists, then there's the possibility that there will be even more demand for Indonesian therapists in Italy and in Europe," said Bachtiar Pangaribuan, a representative from the Indonesian Embassy in Rome.

At the same time, Bachtiar said that Indonesian workers should make sure that they meet the qualifications of foreign employers. For instance, Arbatax Resort wants spa therapists who are between the ages of 25 and 35, can speak English and are professionally certified as spa therapists, Antara news agency reported.

Arbatax Resort was built in 1985 and provides 2,000 square meters of spa facilities. (png)
